FALL ROUND ROBIN A SUCCESS!!!!!!

The Krunch 10U team participated in their own Round Robin Tournament on 10/22 and finished the day with a record of 2-1. There were a lot of jitters the first game, but the girls shook them off and won the last 2 games with a great display of hitting and agressive baserunning. Overall it was a positive day with lots of lessons learned all around. The whole roster contributed in some way throughout the day. Now its time to head indoors and work on getting ready for the spring!!!!!

On Saturday November 5th, the krunch 12u Red team played in a benefit tournament in Shippensburg,PA for a little boy named Baden. Baden has been diagnosed with Neuroblastoma which is a malignant cancerous tumor that develops from nerve tissue. Baden was there at 10 AM to throw out the 1st pitch (which was a strike) and take photos with all of the teams. Being apart of this tournament was such a wonderful experience and at the end of the day, they raised close to a thousand dollars for the family. Good luck to Baden and his family on their tough road ahead.

The 12U Red team has been practicing hard since the Sunday after tryout's. We are very excited with talent we have on this team and are looking forward to a promising 2011/2012 season. This team is filled with girls from 9 different school districts.

KRUNCH 16U to Begin Winter Workouts

Coming off a 13-3 Fall Schedule that included challenging contests against some good 18U teams, the KRUNCH will start preparing for the 2012 Summer Season at their winter facility at Twin Ponds East. Workouts will begin Saturday, January 7, 2012 and run until the end of Februaray 2012.

KRUNCH 16U Champions of USSSA 18U Gobble Gate Tourney

On November 13, 2011, the KRUNCH 16U won the tournament, posting a 4-0 record in the 8-team contest. The KRUNCH met the West Albany Lady Wraith (18U) in game one, and won 3-0 in a tight contest. Game two went Krunch 11, Gravediggers Black (16U) 2. In game 3, the Krunch beat a tough 18U A team, the Chester County Lady Fireballs, 4-2. In the final game of the tournament for the KRUNCH, Coach Marzzacco's team edged out the Ligoneer Valley Shock (18U) 4-2 to win the tournament.

Krunch Takes Second in USSSA East Octoberfest:

The Central PA Krunch earned second place honors in th USSSA East Octoberfest tournament the weekend of October 8th. After going 2-1 in pool play on Saturday, the Krunch came back to win their first game in championship play, 7-6. After looking sharper in their next two games, the Krunch posted wins of 3-1 and 9-1 to qualify for the touurnament championship against the Shamrocks. After an even first two innings, the Shamrocks ultimately used their offensive weapons to score 8 runs. The Krunch was able to score a run to make it 8-1 against one of the premier travel teams in the Mid-Atlantic US. With a second place finish and a record of 5-2 in a very competitive field of 20 teams, the Krunch are poised to finish their Fall Season with a 4-team scrimmage in Chambersburg and an entry in the Baseliner's Halloween Classic in Sterling, VA later this month.

11/5-11/6 The Central Pa Krunch Elite wrapped up their fall season in Sterling, Va playing in the Baseliners College Showcase. The Elite found themselves playing in front of numerous college coaches and solid competition all weekend long. After coming up short in several close games on Saturday the Krunch Elite bounced back nicley Sunday morning to finish the fall season strong.

10/22-10/23/11 Delaware Invitational College Showcase in Wilmington, DE. What a beautiful fall weekend for softball! After a chilly start and a loss in a tight, hard fought game one on Saturday to the eventual tournament winner, the Riviera Beach Spirit Gold, the Krunch Elite heated up right along with the temperature and rattled off four consecutive wins landing them in a rematch with the Beach Spirit Gold in the semi-finals of the Delcastle bracket on Sunday afternoon. The Krunch Elite would not advance to the finals but took their fall record to 9-2 after another weekend of outstanding play in which each and every team member contributed to the TEAMS success.

If you are interested in playing for the Krunch 23U team, please email Tod Whitman (todwhitman@gmail.com) along with a brief resume/history of your RECENT softball career, 16U/18U and college. (we do not care who you played for when you were 10 yrs old) There will be no tryouts. Selection by coaches will be based on your softball qualifications and your ability to play in our tournaments.

Tournament details are still being determined but a tentative schedule has been listed.
